THE Saint Lucia Writers’ Forum presents its fourth edition of the Laureate’s Chair featuring Modeste Downes, educator, journalist, songwriter and poet. He is the award winning writer of “Phases” and “Theatre of the Mind” and has an upcoming publication, “Lessons on Wings”.
The Laureate’s Chair is a reading activity that allows for the mingling of seasoned and budding writers, along with the wider general public. The event is free and takes place every last Tuesday of month at the Castries Central Library at 7:00 p.m.
At this month’s event which will be held on Tuesday next, the Forum will be taking a silent collection (no coins allowed) in aid of recovery efforts for Dominica. The public is asked to come with questions and make a special effort to attend as The Forum continues to celebrate the achievements of Nobel Laureate in Literature, Derek Walcott.
