Help-For-Bexon-Students

THE University of the West Indies Alumni Association (UWIAA) St. Lucia chapter has taken a proactive approach to assisting the students of the Bexon R.C. Infant School, through the provision of academic material as well as food supplies to help with their School Feeding Programme.

This relationship dates back to 2010, when The UWIAA adopted the Bexon Schools post Hurricane Tomas. With the commencement of the new school term, the UWIAA thought it vital to once again make a contribution towards the school’s existing school feeding programme, in keeping with the adage, “health and intellect are the two blessings of life,”

Consequently, earlier this month, Ms. Lydia Dariah, official contact of the UWIAA in Saint Lucia, made a donation of food supplies on behalf of the Association to Mrs. Martha John, principal of the school.

In her brief remarks, Mrs. John conveyed gratitude for the donation made by the UWIAA, which she indicated will greatly assist in augmenting their school feeding programme in the new academic year. She added that many students are dependent on this programme, as without it the attendance of students tended to fluctuate.

The UWIAA said it was proud to be in a position to assist the Bexon R.C. Infant School and pledged its continued commitment to the students throughout the years ahead.
