THE final round of matches in the preliminary stage of the St.Lucia Football Association Under – 23 Eastern Zone Football Tournament was played over the weekend. Seven matches were played at four venues, with eight teams qualifying for the knock out (quarter final stage).
On Saturday Seria “A” edged out Grass Street, 2 – 1 at Dennery, while Togetherness Youth defeated Young Generation 3 – 0 at the Grande Riviere Playing Field.
On Sunday El Ninos beat Blanchard United 3 – 1, while DX United got past Chesters 3 – 1 in Desruisseaux.
In Dennery, Aux Lyons United defeated DCYO 2 – 1, While Monarch beat Helenites 2 – 0 in Micoud; and in Mabouya Valley, Survivals defeated Rovers 2 – 0.
It means therefore that quarter final round has been decided and will begin today.
The line up is as follows – Today Atlantic Ballers vs. On The Rock Strikers in Micoud, and Dx United vs. on Aux Lyons United in Desruisseaux.
Tomorrow, Survivals vs Piton Travel Young Stars in Grande Riviere, and El Ninos vs. Chesters in Desruisseaux. All matches are scheduled to start from 4:00 p.m.
