OVER 90 Saint Lucian authors are featured in an ongoing literary exhibition of published works at the Blue Coral Mall.
The exhibition began on Monday last week and will end February 28, as part of the observance of the Nobel Laureate Week..
The brainchild of Options Inc, the exhibition is being hosted with the support of the Nobel Laureate Committee and the Blue Coral Mall in collaboration with the Castries Central Library. More than 200 books published by local authors are on display. The exhibition seeks to: create an awareness of local writers; re-kindle an interest in reading; promote local writers and assist in, and boost sales for local authors.
Such has been the success of the exhibition as schools, historians and other visitors stop by, that the organizers will now partner with the Standing Committee for Independence, for the display to continue as part of this year’s Independence celebrations.
The exhibition runs from Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m – 6:00 p.m daily. In addition to being able to view works on display, a number of books are available for sale. Added features of the exhibition will include meetings with authors which take place every Wednesday and Friday: 10:30-11:30 a.m; 12:30-1:30 p.m; 5:00-6:00 p.m.
These special hours will feature readings and recitals from authors and book signings. The general public and schools are invited to be part of this interesting and exciting opportunity. In addition, local authors who do not have their work on display are invited to be part of this exclusive opportunity by registering their works at the Blue Coral Mall – 3rd Floor.
