Saint Lucia Records 124 New Cases of COVID-19

PRESS RELEASE — Today Sunday September 5, 2021 the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs confirms a total of 124 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Saturday September 4, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a batch of 365 samples. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 9149.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 70 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 bringing the number of active cases in country to date to 2391. Three of these active cases is currently critical and twelve of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 35, 026 individuals have received the first dose of the Astra Zeneca COVID19 vaccine and 28, 125 have received the second dose. For the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine 4, 463 individuals have received the first dose and 72 individuals have received the second dose. Tomorrow Monday, September 6, 2021 the vaccine will be given at the Vigie Sports Complex and the Soufriere Hospital from 9am to 4pm. Individuals can also call the Community Wellness Center to make an appointment to get vaccinated.
