FINANCIAL Investment & Consultancy Services Ltd. in collaboration with the Police Welfare Association hosted a four-day Financial Management Workshop as part of its outreach activities aimed at educating and empowering persons to make sound financial decisions to improve their lives.
Welcoming the training, Police Commissioner Vernon Francois said that while financial management did not form part of the conventional training syllabus within the Police Force, he believe it was vital not only in professional but also in private life.
The workshop touched on critical areas such as managing personal finances, debt management and retirement planning. Guest speakers Claudius Francis, President of the Insurance Council and lawyer Dylan Norbert-Inglis also addressed the participants on the areas insurance planning and estate planning, respectively.
The facilitated by FICS was well received by the participants and the Police Welfare Association. From all indications, the workshop has empowered them with the knowledge to better manage their finances and plan ahead for their future, and most importantly, their retirement said Camron Laure, President of the Police Welfare Association.
Approximately 80 police officers participated in the interactive and engaging workshop.
