FIFTEEN goals was scored in the inaugural Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Inter-Commercial House Futsal League that kicked off at the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility on Thursday evening.
With a crowd cheering on their respective business establishments, Bank of St. Lucia breezed past J.E. Bergasse 4 – 1 in a game that was totally dominated by an experienced BOSL team. Scoring for bankers was Kurleigh Solomon in the 2nd minute and JenardSatney in the 20th minute and to add insult to injury J.E. Bergasse Cyrus Florent and Shem Hippolyte each scored an own goal, while Shaquille John was the lone scorer for JEB.
In the second match of the evening Bryden and Partners Limited blew away their opponents Harris Paints Ltd in a one sided affair 7 – 1. The goal scorers for BPL were Hamish Christopher in the 7th and 38th minute, Warren Joseph in the 19th and 33rd minutes, JoeiAugustin in the 26th and 31st minutes and Nye Henry struck in the 27th minute. Harris Paints’ consolation goal came from the boots of Christopher Joseph in the 11th minute.
Meanwhile, in what can best be described as a low scoring match-up compared to the two played earlier on the night where 13 goals were scored, 1st National Bank Limited took on Lazy Lagoon Trading/VSV in an encounter that went down to the wire. Ben Gillmor opened the scoring for Lazy Lagoon Trading/VSV in the 7th minute and that is how the score line remained going into the half time whistle. On the resumption Lazy Lagoon Trading/VSV doubled their margin, but 1st National Bank Limited was upped to the task as they too up the tempo a few notches and in so doing found the back of the nets in the 36th minute of the encounter when No. 12 Kerrick Duval’s Strike eluded the Lazy Lagoon Trading/VSV custodian to share the points.
The series continues today from 4:00 p.m. when J.E. Bergasse plays Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited, LIME’s against Peter and Company Limited at 4.55 p.m. and M & C Drugstore will fancy their chances versus St.Lucia Distillers at 5.:0 p.m.
