Police responded to a shooting on St. Louis Street, Castries around 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26.
At the scene, the body of a female, later identified as 24-year-old Verna Augustin of Wilton’s Yard, Castries was found lying in a supine position with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the body, allegedly perpetrated by an unknown assailant.
She was transported to the Victoria Hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.
Her death is the 26th homicide recorded thus far for 2016.
