Police were summoned to Dugard, Micoud around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26 where the body of an unidentified male was discovered.
Preliminary enquiries later identified the dead man as 41-year-old Urban Chalenton Kangal alias Obie of Dugard Micoud.
At the time of the discovery, the body was in a prone position with what appeared to be chop wounds to the right arm and both legs.
An investigation ensued and a male individual has been detained and is assisting with investigation.
A post mortem was scheduled for Thursday, October 27.
This is the 24th homicide for 2016.
