Bank of Saint Lucia has been named the Title Sponsor of Lucian Carnival 2026, marking a substantial expansion of its longstanding support for Saint Lucia’s largest cultural export.

The announcement was made Wednesday evening during Listwa Kannaval, a featured event on the Lucian Carnival calendar held at Harbor Club under the theme “Rhythm, Language and Identity: Does Our Music Define Us?” The occasion brought together cultural practitioners, music artists, academics, stakeholders and Carnival enthusiasts for a hearty discourse on the role of music in shaping Saint Lucian identity. Representing Bank of Saint Lucia were Managing Director, Mr. Rolf Phillips, and Senior Manager – Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ms. Genevieve Downes, who presented a cheque to the Carnival Planning and Management Committee, formally confirming their partnership for the 2026 season.

While Bank of Saint Lucia has supported Lucian Carnival over many years through sponsorship, participation and community engagement, this year’s pledge signals a deeper investment in one of the country’s most important cultural institutions. “Lucian Carnival belongs to Saint Lucians,” said Mr. Rolf Phillips. “It is one of the few spaces where culture, community and trade successfully come together on a national scale. It is important to maintain this platform for the benefit of local musicians, designers, artisans, performers, vendors and small businesses, while preserving the traditions that exhibit the best of who we are as a nation.”

Bank of Saint Lucia’s investment comes at a time when Lucian Carnival continues to broaden its reach, generating economic activity and attracting mounting regional and international interest. The festival remains one of the island’s most significant cultural and tourism assets, contributing to the livelihoods of hundreds of individuals and businesses each year. The Bank’s Carnival portfolio for 2026 includes its collaboration on several highly anticipated private events, emphasising its growing presence and ensuring that its sponsorship reaches multiple facets of the Carnival product and sustains the growth of Saint Lucia’s cultural industry.

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Bank of Saint Lucia continues to fund initiatives that advance national development, education, youth development, healthcare, sports and the arts. As Title Sponsor, Bank of Saint Lucia has been working closely with the CPMC in support of the festival’s programme of both national and private activities. Bank of Saint Lucia looks forward to building on the momentum of this year’s investment in Lucian Carnival.
