The Regional Security System (RSS) Coast Guard Commanders Forum has welcomed three new members, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening maritime security cooperation, operational coordination and collective security across its eight Member States.

The newly inducted members are Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Reece Auguste of the Royal St. Lucia Police Force, ASP Glenfield Campbell of the Guyana Police Force, and Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Col.) Alando Michael of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force.

Their induction took place during the RSS Coast Guard Commanders Conference, being held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from October 12 to 13, 2026.

The addition of the three officers represents another step towards deepening collaboration among RSS Member States and strengthening the region’s collective capacity to respond to emerging maritime security threats.

The Coast Guard Commanders Forum serves as an important mechanism for strategic dialogue, operational coordination and the exchange of expertise among maritime security leaders. It facilitates discussions on shared security challenges, including transnational organised crime, illicit maritime trafficking, maritime border protection and the effective deployment of regional security resources.

As maritime threats become increasingly complex and interconnected, the Forum continues to play an important role in promoting coordinated surveillance, intelligence sharing and joint operational responses to safeguard the region’s territorial waters and maritime interests.

The RSS welcomes the newly inducted members and looks forward to their contributions towards advancing the Forum’s objectives, enhancing maritime domain awareness and strengthening operational readiness across its Member States.

The induction underscores the RSS’s continued commitment to regional integration and collective security, recognising that sustained collaboration remains essential to protecting the Caribbean’s maritime borders, resources and communities.
