Authorities have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in the Marchand River, located in the Castries East community.
On Friday, June 5, at approximately 5:20 p.m., officers from the Marchand Police Station responded to reports concerning a body found in the river.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the unresponsive body of a male, lying face down in the water. There were no immediate signs of violence evident on the body. A medical practitioner pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as 67-year-old Andrew Yarde, a resident of Bishop’s Gap, Marchand.
