Authorities have arrested and charged an individual in connection with the stabbing death of a Micoud man that occurred on April 30.
The victim, identified as Lensley Samuel, also known as “Cizo,” was a 44-year-old resident of Dugard, Micoud.
Initial reports indicate that an altercation between two individuals led to the tragic incident.
On April 30 at approximately 9:26 p.m., officers from the Micoud Police Station responded to a disturbance on Duke Street, Micoud.
Upon arrival, police found two males involved in a fight, one of whom had sustained stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. Emergency personnel at the scene provided immediate assistance, and the injured man was transported to St. Jude Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The suspect, Jeremy Bicar, 35, was arrested on the same day as the incident. A post-mortem examination conducted on May 5 confirmed that Lensley Samuel died from stab wounds to the chest.
Bicar was formally charged with murder later that day and was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility following his appearance in the Second District Court on May 6.
Meanwhile, A male individual has been charged in connection with the tragic death of Tarrick Isidore, who was found deceased on April 19 in the rural community of Bexon.
Reports indicate that the Major Crimes Unit achieved a significant breakthrough in the investigation of Isidore’s homicide. The 22-year-old resident of New Field, Dennery, was discovered along the Odsan Bypass Road with apparent gunshot wounds.
Following this discovery, the Major Crimes Unit launched a thorough investigation.
A post-mortem examination conducted on April 21 confirmed that Isidore died from gunshot wounds to the chest and limbs.
On April 25, Joachim Evans, a resident of Odsan, Castries, was arrested in connection with the case. After an identification parade held on April 29, Evans was formally charged with murder on April 30.
Evans appeared before the First District Court on May 4, where he was remanded in custody at the Bordelais Correctional Facility.
In other news, investigations are ongoing following the discovery of a lifeless body in the south. On Monday, May 4, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Vieux Fort Police Station responded to a report in Pomme, Augier.
Upon arrival, they discovered the decomposed body of a female hanging from a tree. The remains were subsequently transported to St. Jude Hospital, where the individual was officially pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Talia Norma Hippolyte, a 34-year-old resident of Augier, Vieux Fort.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Friday, May 8, to determine the cause of death, and investigations into this matter are ongoing.
