Saint Lucian Cyber Expert Selected for Prestigious U.S. Leadership Exchange

The U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown announces the selection of Ms. Talisha Son of Saint Lucia to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the U.S. Department of State’s flagship professional exchange program. Ms. Son will take part in a multi-regional IVLP project titled, “Advancing Cybersecurity Innovation and Policy.”

Administered by the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the program convenes international professionals to examine key issues at the intersection of cybersecurity, innovation, and public policy. The project will address the respective roles of the public and private sectors in advancing cybersecurity innovation; review U.S. approaches to cybercrime policy and legislation, including responses to ransomware; and highlight mechanisms that support individuals and organizations affected by cyber incidents. Participants will also explore international cooperation frameworks, including global initiatives and agreements that strengthen collaboration on cybersecurity.

Her selection reflects a sustained commitment to professional development and the effective, responsible use of technology in support of public safety.

The U.S. Embassy Bridgetown congratulates Ms. Son on her selection and looks forward to her continued contributions to cybersecurity and regional collaboration in the Caribbean.
