A 50 year old businessman in Vieux Fort has become St Lucia’s latest homicide victim.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of David Mondesir of Hewanorra Orchard, Vieux Fort. A police statement said the body of Mondesir was “discovered” at the home of his girlfriend around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Mondesir was transported to the St. Jude Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
Meanwhile, police investigations into the death of 52 year old, Sophia Delia Charles Didier of Reduit, Gros-Islet which occurred last Sunday, have resulted in the formal arrest and charging of 38 year old, James Bretney of Balata, Babonneau.
Bretney was formally charged with murder and is scheduled to make an appearance before the First District Court on Monday
So far St Lucia has recorded 18 homicides this year.
