
The completion of the Solarisation Project in Soufriere marks a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to reducing fossil fuel consumption and minimizing carbon footprint through solar energy, according to an official source.
The formal initiation event was held in Soufriere, drawing the attention of government officials and local community representatives.
Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre emphasized on his Facebook page that the development of renewable energy is a national priority for the government.
He stated, “We are expanding solar infrastructure in public buildings, providing VAT-free incentives to homeowners for renewable energy technologies, and actively exploring wind and geothermal energy. We are establishing the foundation for a sustainable Saint Lucia, where economic development and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.”

PM Pierre asserted, “This progress demonstrates our unwavering commitment to nurturing the blue economy and ensuring that our coastal and fishing communities thrive in a stronger, greener, and more inclusive future.”
