It was reported that Marine Police recovered the body of Levi Darcie on Saturday, August 27th, 2022.
An extensive search and rescue operation was conducted after it was reported that the 11-year-old had been swept away in the Castries/Marchand river after allegedly trying to retrieve a ball.
Although a drone was used to aid in the search, it proved unsuccessful by the end of Friday.
It had rained heavily on the island days earlier, causing a flood warning until Friday.
Young Darcie was a diligent and beloved R.C. Boys Primary School student.
A second drowning on the island is also being investigated by the police.
It is reported that a man was fished from the water nearby Anse La Voute after he was on a boat.
Despite resuscitation efforts, the gentleman remained unresponsive.
