In an exhilarating showdown, the Shark Swim Club triumphed at the 5th Lightning Aquatic Swim Club swim meet, known as the “LA Relay Carnival,” held last weekend.
The Sharks dominated the competition, amassing an impressive 787 points and securing a total of 63 medals, including 24 gold, 22 silver, and 17 bronze.
The Seajays Swim Club put up a strong fight, finishing in second place with 720 points, while RR Aquatic rounded out the top three with 450 points at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre on Sunday, May 3.

Nearly 150 swimmers from the island’s six swimming clubs—RR Aquatic, Rodney Heights Aquatic Swim Club, Seajays Swim Club, Sharks Swim Club, Southern Flying Fish, and host Lightning Aquatic Swim Club—competed in 39 thrilling events throughout the meet.
The event concluded with an exciting 25m freestyle showdown for coaches, where Bradford Worrell secured a notable victory.
Other clubs also showcased their talent: Lightning Aquatic collected 326 points (4 gold, 12 silver, 8 bronze), Rodney Heights Aquatic earned 212 points (4 gold, 3 silver, 8 bronze), Southern Flying Fish gathered 164 points (3 gold, 3 silver, 7 bronze), and unattached swimmers impressed with 111 points (6 gold, 5 silver, 2 bronze).
Among the standout performances, Seajays’ Sapphire Parks made waves by breaking her own Girls 11-12 100m freestyle record, clocking in at 1:01.95, bettering her previous time of 1:02.25 set at the Lucian Grand Prix 2025. Additionally, Carifta gold medallist and debutant Tyler Dantes (Seajays) captivated the crowd by breaking the Boys 11-12 50m backstroke record, finishing in 29.90 seconds and surpassing Tristan Dorville’s mark of 30.73 seconds set during the 2019 OECS Championships.
According to the host, Lightning Aquatic Swim Club, the 5th edition of the LA Relay Carnival was a resounding success, celebrating the exceptional talent, teamwork, and the growing strength of swimming across the island.
