Keen Challenge in SLFA Junior League Competition

The penultimate round of matches in the SLFA Inc. Boys Under 12 District League football competition, powered by the Ministry of Youth Development & Sports, National Lotteries Authority, and ACADO, took place on Saturday, June 28, at the Corinth Playing Field.

Roseau Valley secured a decisive victory, while Marchand and South Castries battled to an exciting draw.

To date, 33 matches have been played, resulting in 102 goals scored.

The three remaining matches are scheduled to complete the first stage of the competition on Saturday, July 5, as follows:

Vieux Fort North vs. Anse La Raye – Technical Centre – 10:00 am
Central Castries vs. Babonneau – Corinth P.F. – 10:00 am – South Castries vs. Roseau Valley – 11:00 am

In Group 1, the following teams have completed their schedules: – Soufriere – 16 pts – Mon Repos – 13 pts – Micoud – 10 pts – Choiseul – 6 pts.

Anse La Raye stands at 9 points (with a goal difference of 4), ensuring that a win or draw in their final game will secure their advancement to the next stage alongside Soufriere and Mon Repos.

Micoud, with 10 points, boasts a goal difference of 8.

In Group 2, the following teams have finished their matches:

Gros Islet – 16 pts – Central Castries – 13 pts (with a game in hand) – Roseau Valley – 9 pts (with a game in hand) – Marchand – 5 pts – La Clery – 3 pts.

Gros Islet, Central Castries, and Anse La Raye are assured to advance to the second stage.

Despite light rain, both scheduled matches in the penultimate round of the SLFA Inc. Boys Under 12 competition successfully concluded on Saturday, June 28, at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

In the first match of the doubleheader, Roseau Valley claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Babonneau, with David Fitz scoring the decisive goal in the 35th minute, securing their place in the next round.

In the second match, South Castries and Marchand engaged in a thrilling 2-2 draw. South Castries scored through Curvany Prospere in the 10th minute and Carani Marius in the 40th minute, while Marchand equalized with goals from Zakim John in the 23rd minute and Keylan St. Juste from the penalty spot in the 40th minute.

Notably, all four teams have completed their commitments in the first round of the competition.
