Form 1 Students from SJC and SMC Visit Taiwan Embassy in Saint Lucia

The Embassy of Taiwan in Saint Lucia recently welcomed a vibrant group of Form 1 student representatives from St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School (SJC) and St. Mary’s College (SMC) for an engaging cultural exchange visit that left lasting impressions on both students and staff.

Accompanied by Mandarin teacher Mr. Andres Chi, along with SJC teachers Mrs. Janice Stevens and Ms. Agnes Alphones, and SMC teacher Ms. Shander Charlie, the students were warmly received at the Embassy where they showcased both talent and enthusiasm.

The visit began on a high note with the students delivering a lively musical performance, singing two nostalgic Mandarin songs, “Sisters” and “Sharing,” much to the delight of the Embassy staff.

During the cultural immersion session, students:

  • Participated in an interactive Q&A session following a detailed briefing.
  • Learned how to use chopsticks, a fun and practical skill.
  • Tried their hand at calligraphy, practicing the art with poise.
  • Designed creative posters symbolizing the enduring friendship between Saint Lucia 🇱🇨 and Taiwan 🇹🇼.

The Embassy praised the students for their discipline, polite demeanor, and eagerness to learn. Their visit exemplified the positive spirit of youth engagement and cultural appreciation.

The Embassy extended warm thanks and best wishes to the students and teachers, expressing hope for more such enriching exchanges in the future.
