This season’s T10 Blast continued over the weekend with thrilling outcomes as teams fiercely compete to outplay one another in a high-intensity atmosphere.

On Sunday, the Piton Strikers handed the leaders, Bamboo Blasters, their first defeat of the tournament.

Batting first, the Piton Strikers faced early setbacks, losing Ackeem Auguste for just 1, Jason Simon for 4, and Vince Smith for 3 within the first four overs.

However, 28-year-old Christian Charlery entered the fray following the first wicket and, alongside skipper Keon Gaston, revitalized the innings. They forged an unbroken partnership of 92 runs from just 42 deliveries, leading the team to a formidable total of 117 without further losses.

Charlery was unstoppable, blasting 85 runs off just 35 balls, including nine sixes and four fours. He reached his fifty in only 25 balls, with his most explosive performance coming in the final over when he launched right-arm medium-pacer Khan Elcock for four massive sixes.

Gaston played a supportive role, adding 17 runs from 14 balls.

Despite a valiant effort from Bamboo Blasters, with skipper Stephen Naitram scoring 24 runs (including 4 sixes) from 9 balls and Khan Elcock contributing 31 runs off 18 balls, they could only manage 90 for 8 within their allotted overs.

All six bowlers from the Piton Strikers took wickets, with Player-of-the-Match Christian Charlery and Shanii Mesmain both achieving impressive figures of 2 for 15 in two overs.

Final Scores:

– Piton Strikers: 117 for 3 in 10 overs
