Seventh Ambassador of Japan to CARICOM Presents Credentials

CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett, officially accepted the Letter of Credence from His Excellency Dr. Akima Umezawa, the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Ambassador Umezawa becomes the seventh Japanese envoy to CARICOM, continuing a longstanding diplomatic relationship that dates back to 1993.

The ceremony marks another chapter in the enduring friendship between CARICOM and Japan, a partnership grounded in mutual respect, development cooperation, and shared global values.
