Another meet record has fallen. This time at the hands of St. Lucian 100m Hurdles athlete Aasia Laurencin, at the Johnny Loaring Classic in Windsor, Canada.

The 22-year-old recorded a wind-legal 12.69, making her one of the top 20 fastest women in the world. Laurencin had to beat Charisma Taylor from the Bahamas and Tatiana Aholou from Canada sealing her qualification for the World Championships.
Aasia Laurencin broke the meet record of 12.89 and in the process rewrote the national history books. Only a month earlier she set a national record breezing to a time of 12.88. The University of Michigan graduate is expected to face some stiff opposition at the Bob Vigars Classic which is scheduled to take place in London, Ontario, Canada on June 22nd.
2025 has already seen thrilling results from Aasia Laurencin. In January She won the women’s 60M in a time of 7.48 at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational, also securing a 100m second place finish and a 200m first place finish at the Len Paddock Open.
