Drug and Firearm Interdiction at Port Castries

Forty-seven-year old British national formally charged. Six charges were preferred to him, including the importation and possession of controlled drugs, as well as possession with intent to supply.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, through its Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, in partnership with the Customs and Excise Department, has made a significant breakthrough in disrupting a transnational drug and firearm trafficking operation.

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, officers responded to a report of a suspicious container at Port Castries. A joint operation led to the discovery of concealed packages of cannabis resin, cannabis-infused products, firearm components, and related paraphernalia hidden within a vehicle shipped from England.

Following swift and coordinated investigations, two persons of interest were initially detained. Subsequently, Glen Stephens, a 47-year-old British national, was arrested and formally charged on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Six charges were preferred to him, including the importation and possession of controlled drugs, as well as possession with intent to supply.

On Thursday May 15, 2025 Glen Stephen was escorted to the First District court for bail purposes and granted bail in the sum of twenty-two thousand ($22,000) dollars cash or suitable surety and other court conditions.

This interdiction underscores the vigilance and commitment of local law enforcement in combating illicit trafficking activities. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to pursue all leads.
