OVER two hundred clerical, technical and ancillary workers employed with Minvielle & Chastanet Group of Companies will now benefit from an industrial agreement between the Company and the National Workers Union (NWU).
Workers throughout the company’s operations across the island will receive a ten percent general wage increase to be executed before the end of the year as follows: 4% in Year 1, 3% in Year 2 and an additional 3% compounded in Year 3. The new contract includes an increase in the allotment of uniforms and Compassionate and Paternity Leave. There will also be a payout of eleven months back pay.
The parties have initialled the new provisions of the new industrial accord to facilitate the execution of the financial benefits in December 2024. This industrial arrangement will run for three years from January 1, 2024. During this time the parties will continue to discuss at a domestic level, the personal development of some employees.
Secretary General of the NWU, Johann M. Harewood has conveyed the organisation’s admiration to the company for its demonstration of reasonability and the constructive approach undertaken during the brief collective bargaining sessions.
