SLASP Explains Flight Suspensions at HIA

On Sunday, August 21, 2022, SLASPA halted flight operations at Hewanorra International Airport (HIA) to perform emergency pavement repairs.

The suspension, according to the Saint Lucia Air and Seaports Authority was necessary to facilitate a thorough assessment of the damage.

The Authority’s airport engineering team successfully completed the repair work between 11:00 pm August 21, 2022 and 1:30 am August 22, 2022. Flight operations resumed at midday (12::00) today August 22, 2022.

Passengers had been advised to contact their respective airlines directly for updates.
