Pirate at Pigeon Island National Landmark

The management and Staff of the Saint Lucia National Trust would like to inform their patrons that the Pigeon Island National Landmark will amend weekend opening hours to allow patrons to enjoy longer afternoons at the Landmark during this month. Starting Saturday 6th August, and continuing each weekend until the end of August, the Pigeon Island National Landmark will open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturdays and Sundays.

If the trail period goes well, these late hours will be extended into September. Week-day hours remain 9:30 am to 5:00 pm with the exception of Tuesdays when the Landmark will open to the public at 11 am. This is to facilitate regular staff meetings, training and development. The management and staff would also like to invite you to enjoy a visit to the recently recreated Interpretation Centre located in the National Trust Headquarters building. Here you can learn about the various ruins on Pigeon Island and see artefacts from colonial and Amerindian history and read about the role of Pigeon Island in the past. New attractions have also recently been added to the Landmark.

Interpretation Centre

Children of all ages can enjoy posing as a pirate or a soldier and the more adventurous can enjoy the new “Watt a Trail” which has improved access to Signal Peak where you can enjoy superb views of the north of Saint Lucia. These new attractions and the Interpretation Centre are free to everyone once inside the Landmark, however, the Trust is also setting up easy ways that patrons who have enjoyed their visit can contribute by donation via QR Code (linked to the website donation portal) or in cash at the Gate House.

One can also apply to become a member of the Trust: Members of the Trust enjoy various activities exploring Saint Lucia, membership meetings and newsletters and of course the ability to contribute to the conservation of Saint Lucia’s natural and built heritage. People wishing to apply to become members of the Trust may fill in an application form at the Gate House at Pigeon Island or apply online at www.saintlucianationaltrust.com
