Saint Lucia Records 138 New Cases of COVID-19

PRESS RELEASE — The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs late Sunday September 12, 2021 received confirmation of a total of 138 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Saturday September 11, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 448 samples. This number of positive cases makes up 30.8% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 9961.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 251 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases currently in country to 2454. Three of these active cases are currently critical and eleven of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 35, 374 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 28, 669 have received the second dose. A total of 6, 583 individuals have received the first dose and 77 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Today Monday, September 13, 2021 the vaccine will be given at the Vigie Sports Complex and the Soufriere Hospital from 9am to 4pm.
