After a historical victory in Saint Lucia’s 2021 General Elections on Monday, July 26th, the Leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party, Philip J. Pierre will officially become Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister after he is sworn in today.
Pierre’s Labour Party captured thirteen (13) of the seventeen (17) constituencies including Micoud North a known yellow stronghold.
Independent candidates Richard Frederick (Castries Central) and Stephenson King (Castries North) both former members of the United Workers Party, were also successful at the polls.
The Allen Chastanet led UWP, were only able to secure two seats that of Micoud South and Choiseul. The former Prime Minister will continue to represent his constituents for a second term along with Bradley Felix for the latter.
SLP’s Pierre has promised to run a government on unified inclusion and has pledged to work with all Saint Lucians despite political affiliation.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 4:00 P.M on all major radio and television networks.
The Right Honourable Prime Minister, Phillip J. Pierre, you advance to this solemn inauguration, standing on the shoulders of thousands of (great and small)) statesmen and states women of St.Lucia.
Your task to lead our people out of this Egypt of political, economic and humanitarian bondage may look daunting but not in surmountable.
