Saint Lucia Records 19 New Cases of COVID-19 in Two Days

On Monday May 10, 2021 the Ministry of Health and Wellness received confirmation from the Ezra Long Laboratory of 19 new cases of COVID-19. This was from a total of 244 samples taken during the period May 6, 2021 to May 8, 2021 which were processed on May 8, 2021 and May 9, 2021.

On May 8, 2021, a total of 158 samples with 16 positives, and on May 9, 2021, a total of 86 samples with 3 positives.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 17 individuals bringing the total number of active cases in the country to date to 149. Presently, two of the active cases are requiring critical care at the Respiratory Hospital. The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date to 4690.

As of May 8, 2021 a total of 25, 248 individuals have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 13, 581 individuals have received the second dose.
