Sagicor Thanks Nurses

OBSERVING this month as Nurses Month in Saint Lucia, advisors from team Sagicor visited community wellness centres throughout the country to surprise nurses with gifts and cupcakes in recognition of their service and contribution.

Each year on May 12, the world pays tribute to the selfless work nurses do on International Nurses Day. The covid-19 pandemic has re-emphasized the sacrifices that are embodied in their calling and organisations and individuals are finding special ways to say ‘thank you’ to this group of professionals.

“With this in mind, our team decided to use the entire month to go out into the community and meet some of these nurses where they are and offer personal commendation on Sagicor’s behalf for the work they do,” said Eon Phillips, Assistant Vice President, Insurance Operations; Principal Representative and Branch Manager for Sagicor Life (Eastern Caribbean) Inc. (SLECI), in St Lucia.

“We worked with our Advisors to come up with a list of community centres throughout the island and we organized gift bags and cupcakes to distribute to them. I know I speak on behalf of the entire team when I say that we are all thankful for the level of commitment they have demonstrated particularly during the last 18 months and continuing. Not only have they had to deal with the risks of covid-19 in their job every day, but they have had to continue gallantly to ensure that we all have access to the regular health care services that we need,” Phillips explained.

During the course of the month various Sagicor Advisors presented gift bags and cupcakes to over 30 nurses at the La Clery, Babonneau, Grand Riviere, Monchy, Gros Islet Polyclinic and the Vieux Fort Health Centres.
