The body of an elderly gentleman was this morning fished out of the waters near the Dennery Fishing Port.
An alarm was raised at approximately 11:10 am informing personnel of a possible drowning, after the body was seen floating in the waters between the Dennery Fishing Port and the islet.
A rescue team from the Dennery Fire Station with the assistance of fishermen from the village, retrieved the deceased from the water using a basket stretcher and rescue lines.
The body was subsequently handed over to officers of the Dennery Police Station.
It is the second reported drowning in only four days. Last week Thursday the body of another male was recovered from the sea at Praslin.
