THE Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture is appealing to all businesses in Saint Lucia and its members in particular to take note of the calls by the Government for a heightened attention to the COVID-19 prevention protocols that have been instituted since late March this year.
The Chamber notes with pride that many business places have continued to insist on the wearing of face masks and the provision of hand sanitizers on entering their place of business even in the micro and small business sector in communities around the island. Note has also been taken that persons have accepted and continued to follow the physical distancing protocols and waiting in line patiently to enter businesses as well.
The unfortunate incident on an additional COVID-19 case where community spread is suspected and likely requires businesses, their employees and customers to be even more vigilant and respect the preventative protocols that have been instituted for protection of life and limb. We urge all firms to take all necessary measures to assist their staff and customers to remain safe.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant damage to lives and livelihoods across the world, and Saint Lucia has thus far managed well through decisive action and discipline by the Health Authorities, Government and citizens. This is not the time to let down our guard and the Chamber implores all Saint Lucians to do all within their power to limit the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.
