THE Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), launched by the Department of the Public Service last year, celebrated its first anniversary yesterday.
The EAP is a work-based intervention programme designed to enhance the professional attitude of government employees, and provide assistance to those persons who are experiencing professional and personal problems, which adversely affect their quality of life and job performance.
The programme provides free workshops and debriefing sessions to government departments, and six free counselling sessions to government employees and their immediate family members.
The number of clients that have used the Employee Assistance Programme during the first year of establishment has surpassed the expectations of the Department of the Public Service. The feedback from clientele revealed that service has been exceptional, effective, and in some cases life changing, a release from the programme said.
