THE Ministry of Infrastructure is seeking to maintain high standards in the electricity sector.
A recently held meeting of licensed wiremen served not only as a forum to discuss electrical regulations but also all matters affecting licensed individuals.
In welcoming remarks, Permanent Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy, Allison A. Jean, congratulated all of those in attendance for the quality of work carried out throughout the preceding year.
Jean remarked however that due to electricityās enormity, all wiremen and their work are constantly examined.
She said: āFor the electricity sector I could tell you that our ministry places a high premium on safety and in regulating that sector. There is much scrutiny on the work that is done by you and other stakeholders.ā
Jean said that whilst on a recent visit abroad, she was made aware of just how far the regulations set by the ministry and followed by the nationās wiremen surpass those of their regional counterparts.
