Four R.C. Jam ‘Kings’

THIS year’s RC Jam ended on a high note with four kings emerging from three categories of song amidst a field of eighteen.

Advisor was crowned calypso king while Skai swept away the competition in the power soca category. However, the groovy soca monarch ended with a between after Arneze (soca artistes Ricky T and Ambi’s brother) and Mini-Timi.

Organizer, Denis “Ti Carro” Leo, a teacher at the St. Aloysius RC Boys’ Primary School, said last Friday’s event went without a glitch despite the inclement weather. He said the high level of competition the boys brought to the stage made it a bit difficult for the judges.

Some of the boys, including the winners, shed a few tears while the results were announced, proof, perhaps, that they take their singing game seriously.

Leo, who made it to this year’s Calypso Final on the senior circuit, also expressed thanks to all the organizers, sponsors and artistes who made this year’s RC Jam another success.
