Help for Students in UK Praised

THE British Caribbean Chamber of Commerce Saint Lucia (BCCCSL) has congratulated Saint Lucian students at the BPP University in London on their initiative in establishing the BPP Saint Lucian Society with the goal of “assisting with academic, housing, guidance support for students from our small island nation as well as organize activities and more”.

As ambassadors for the island in London, the young students are to be congratulated for their enthusiasm and in particular for organising and staging a spectacle called “ A taste of Paradise” on March 11 with fashion, dance, food, drink and with a merger of a diverse range of cultures and networking.

The British Caribbean Chamber of Commerce, Saint Lucia, together with Senator Stephen King of Rise Saint Lucia, Shelly Noon and Dr. Jacqueline Bird, last year organised for over 40 students to take up full tuition fee scholarships in London. At the time it was stated that these young ambassadors would bring back skills learned to the island as well as projecting Saint Lucia’s culture and heritage in London.

The BCCCSL said: “We were very pleased to see how enthusiastic the students are in everything they do, in particular in raising awareness of the island in the UK. It is a sign that their initiative and drive will be their driver in the future, but will also project a positive and dynamic image of Saint Lucia far and wide. Putting the island on the map is what it is all about and the BPP Saint Lucian Society are to be congratulated”.
