THE Cultural Development Foundation has the mandate to preserve and develop Arts and Culture in St. Lucia. It is charged with the responsibility of providing avenues for artistes to display their talents, creating opportunities for them to develop and enhance their skills, thus improving the showcasing of that talent displayed by artistes around the island.
One of the ways in which CDF seeks to develop the Arts is by offering a number of training and development workshops to artistes and interested persons in the various communities.
For this year’s National Arts Festival the CDF has organised a workshop in Theatre Arts, with a focus on the development of voice, speech and acting skills.
This year, the workshop is being offered in the four communities of Soufriere, Babonneau, Castries and Vieux Fort. It will run from March 29 to April 8, and is expected to cover a number of critical training areas.
All Theatre Arts students, actors as well as other interested persons are asked to take advantage of this opportunity for self-development and positive engagement.
Additionally, the CDF will be engaging writers in a Creative Writing Workshop with a view to developing script writing skills. This workshop is open to all writers and will take place at the CDF Conference Room from March 30 to April 6 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
