THE event conceptualization and management company, LiiVE Productions Inc., has launched the DASH – Independence Colour Run for this year.
Dubbed the “happiest fun run” on Saint Lucia, the Colour Run is set to host hundreds of participants as they run through showers of coloured powder in celebration of health, happiness and national pride for Saint Lucia’s 37th year Independence, while encouraging good citizenship as all proceeds from the run will go towards the enhancement of the Child Development and Guidance Centre.
DASH – Independence Colour Run is set for February 28and begins at the Choc Estate roundabout with a prompt 6:30 a.m. gun start. Colour runners are expected to arrive clad in the official DASH T-shirts with the highly anticipated funky accoutrements and embellishments.
Participants will become a moving canvas as they pass through three colour zones representing colours of the national flag; cerulean blue and light Chrome Yellow. The finish line will be, Rodney Bay, which will lead into a mini “Independence Village” where patrons can enjoy LiiVE entertainment while participating in multiple colour throws!
In addition to celebrating our independence in a way to foster love of and for country with a sense of community, DASH – Independence Colour Run aims to raise funds for the Child Development and Guidance Centre., CDGC is a registered non-profit organization, located in La Clery, Castries and is run by Dr. Kim Gardner, paediatrician.
It is a facility that provides Comprehensive Developmental Assessments, Early Intervention and Therapeutic Services for children. CDGC’s aim is to ensure that children from birth to the age of sixteen 16 receive all the necessary support and help that are required enable them to achieve their full potential and become contributing members of society.
The cost for adults is $35 and $20 for children under 12 which will include a DASH T-shirt, race bib and a packet of powder and other branded paraphernalia.
