Achievers Seek JA ‘Company of the Year’ Title In Jamaica

JUNIOR Achievers of the Babonneau and George Charles Secondary Schools left the island yesterday to compete in the Junior Achievement “Company of the Year” competition (COY) in Jamaica.

The competition which is held annually to celebrate the successes of participants of the Junior Achievement Company Programme brings together over 150 participants from the Americas Region.

First and third place winners of the JA St Lucia “Company of the Year” competition Gem Papier of the George Charles Secondary School and Xpress Designz of Babonneau Secondary will be among 21 student companies from 13 countries competing for the regional “Company of the Year” title.

The JA Americas Region “Company of the Year” competition is a battle of business skills, ingenuity and innovation. It focuses on the accomplishments of JA Company Programme students, ages 15-19, during the academic year and affords students an exciting opportunity to demonstrate teamwork, leadership, innovation and business skills that will empower them to take charge of their future economic success.
