THE management of Ponm Damou Kreations has announced the opening of registration of participants for its seventh annual poetry slam.
The PonmDamou poetry slam is open to performance poets 18 years and over. The creative outlet is seeking 36-48 poets to run its final outing before staging of the “Champion of Champions” event in February of next year.
Each participating poet is required to perform three pieces, which are no longer than three minutes each, in three rounds of competition on a given night. The competition runs for seven weeks, with six qualifying rounds and the finals. It starts the first week in November and goes into mid December. Training is provided and a prize of $1000 is offered to the winner.
The past six winners are Felicia Montoute, Claudius Medouze, Flora JessyLeonce, Robert Rene, Brendon “Young B” Joseph and Alice Madard.
