EXPERIENCED hospitality executive Kashmie Ali, who has spent 25 years in corporate leadership, has returned to St. Lucia as the new managing director of The Landings St. Lucia.
The Caribbean hospitality professional previously spent nine years in St. Lucia as the Regional Director of Operations with Sandals Resorts and then later as Vice President of Operations with Jade Mountain and AnseChastanet resorts in Soufrière.
Ali returns to St. Lucia following a five-year stint helping to turn around the fortunes of Sugar Bay Beach Resort and Spa in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, while on assignment with The Moinian Group, one of the largest privately held real estate firms in the United States.
“It’s great to be back in St. Lucia and to work with a motivated team who are all focused on elevating the already exceptional customer service experience here at The Landings,” said the 49 year-old Ali, who has amassed more than two decades of executive leadership experience, beginning at the age of 24 when he was appointed General Manager with Texas-based hotels and resorts management company American General Hospitality.
A global traveller, who calls Virginia, St. Lucia and St. Thomas his home, Ali said his experiences across the industry have served him well and he looks forward to integrating best practices at The Landings, which enjoys solid business primarily from the US and UK markets as well as Canada and the Caribbean.
A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Ali said many exciting developments are taking place at The Landings, including a renewed commitment to culinary excellence, new butler service, and new forays into both the bridal and meetings and incentives markets. “We have a great team of owners who have joined forces at The Landings and collectively we have very high expectations and serious goals of delivering some of the best guest experiences you can find in this part of the world,” Ali said.
