Verne Garde Reappointed as Commissioner of the RSLPF
Verne Garde has officially returned to the helm of the police force.
The RSLPF announced his reappointment on Thursday, stating that his leadership, experience, and dedication to national security remain invaluable assets. “We welcome Commissioner Garde back and look forward to his continued guidance in advancing the mission and vision of the RSLPF,” the organization stated.

Garde’s appointment follows an acting stint that began in September of 2024 and a one-year extension in March 2025.
After his contract expired in February, there was much speculation about whether he would remain in the position.
Last week, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre told reporters that a new C.O.P. would be announced by the 2nd of April.
The RSLPF confirmed Garde’s appointment early Thursday morning.
