The Gros Islet District Awards Committee in collaboration with the Gros Islet Constituency Office is pleased to announce the second hosting of the annual Gros Islet Constituency Lilèt Awards. The ceremony which will take place on Thursday 1st August, 2019 seeks to celebrate the hard work and dedication of residents from all age groups, and to motivate them to strive for excellence in their personal development and community development.
All clubs and organisations within Gros Islet are asked to identify and nominate residents and groups who they believe are worthy of the Lilèt Award in the various categories listed below. The awardees of the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be selected by the Awards Committee which comprises community leaders and sports enthusiasts. The awards will be further categorised as Veterans (35+) and Youth (below 35).
Award categories include Sports (Football, Netball, Cricket, Swimming, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby, Golf, Athletics), Youth Development, Business, Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Politics, Visual, Performing and Literary Arts, Educators, and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The Committee anticipates the nomination of many deserving residents and looks forward to celebrating with them at the Lilèt Awards Ceremony.
Nomination forms can be obtained from the Gros-Islet Constituency Council, the Office of the Parliamentary Representative of Gros Islet, and the various ICT Centers and Human Resource Development Centers in the Gros Islet District.
The deadline for submitting nominations is July 15th, 2019.
