TEN goals were scored in two matches on Sunday evening, as the Gros Islet Football League commenced its promotional league competition at the Grande Riviere playing field.
In the first game of the double-header, GMC United trounced Reduit FC 8-0 in a lopsided affair.
Kerl Joseph started things off for GMC United in the 8th minute, Selwyn Boyce made it 2-0 in the 35th Minute, while three quick strikes from Rohan Lambert in the 39th minute and TyreceJeremie in the 37th and 43rd minute ended the half 5-0.
On the resumption, there was no letting off the hook for Reduit FC, as GMC United continued their goal-scoring spree.
Jason Jimilien put GMC United further ahead in the 60th minute; Shannon Leonce made it 7-0 in the 85th minute, while Tamara Moise settles the deal in the 90th minute of play to give GMC United all three points.
In the second encounter, Monchy FC defeated Dominators FC 2-0 with goals from prolific striker Troy Greenidge in the 24th minute and Tev Lawrence in the 30th minute — and that’s how the score line remained up until the end of regulation time.
The second round of matches will see GMC Untied up against Monchy FC from 2:00p.m. and Dominators FC versus Reduit at 4:00p.m. at the Grande Riviere playing field on Sunday 10 June.
