As the St. Lucia Semi Professional Football League (SPFL) heads into its final rounds, more interesting matches are on show and more desperate efforts are being made to secure vital points.

On Tuesday evening Mabouya Valley handed the boys from Soufriere a terrible blow with Canius Sandiford securing a brace as did Torian Joseph, plus another from Maius Stanislaus, in their 5-0 thrashing.
On that same night Canaries also recorded vital points as they defeated Dennery 2-0 to maintain their second-place position on the board.
The weekend is expected to see some movement on the points table.

On Saturday, Dennery can move into second place, if only temporarily, if they can do away with a resilient Vieux Fort North sitting in seventh place and desperate for points.
Bottom of the table Anse La Raye will come up against defending champions La Clery. The defending champions are 9 points off league leaders Vieux Fort South. La Clery must win by 6 clear goals if they are to leapfrog Dennery in fourth place.
On Sunday, third place Gros Islet will meet eighth place Mabouya Valley who will be trying to carry their Tuesday momentum into that match.
Second place Canaries will meet Soufriere in Sunday’s last encounter hoping to hand the Sulphur Boys another devastating defeat and in the process cut the lead at the top of the table to one point.
