BANK of Saint Lucia continues to honour its commitment to the development of young people in Saint Lucia. The Bank recently lent its support to the Boys Training Centre (BTC) by way of a donation of a much-needed arc-welding machine, an essential tool in teaching and mastering the art of welding.
To support the rehabilitation and reintegration of young persons into society, the Centre offers programmes such as vocational skills training in the diverse fields of Auto Mechanics and Welding. Successful completion of the programme will support the reintegration efforts by increasing the prospects of gaining sustainable employment.
The Bank was pleased to contribute to the vocational skills training programme, which provides an essential learning experience. According to Manager at the Centre, Wang Sonson, “the donation of this machine will strengthen rehabilitation efforts of the Centre further assisting with the delivery of the welding programme to the boys who can attain Caribbean Vocational Qualification in that field. Bank of Saint Lucia has taken our vision for the boys one step closer to becoming a reality.”
Bank of Saint Lucia remains committed to supporting youth development initiatives, in keeping with its Corporate Social Responsibility philosophy.
