Over 500 students qualify for graduation as the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College {SALCC} marks four decades of shaping Saint Lucia’s future.
Forty years of opening doors, nurturing talent and transforming potential into achievement will take centre stage on Sunday, 29 November 2026, when the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) hosts its 40th Graduation Ceremony at the Royalton Saint Lucia Resort.
More than a graduation, this year’s celebration represents a significant chapter in the story of an institution that has helped shape the educational, professional and social landscape of Saint Lucia for four decades. As the College celebrates its 40th anniversary, it does so alongside a new generation of graduates who are ready to take their place in the world, equipped with the knowledge, skills and experiences to make their mark.
Over 500 students have qualified for graduation this year, with at least 300 expected to participate in the two ceremonies scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The ceremonies will bring together graduates, families, faculty, staff, alumni and distinguished guests in recognition of the hard work, determination and commitment that have brought this year’s graduating class to this important milestone.
Established in 1985, SALCC has grown into one of Saint Lucia’s leading institutions of tertiary education, providing opportunities for thousands of individuals to pursue academic advancement, develop technical and vocational competencies, and prepare for meaningful careers. The college says, Over the years, it has remained responsive to the changing needs of society, expanding its programme offerings, strengthening partnerships and embracing innovation to ensure that its students are prepared for an evolving world of work.
According to Chair of the Graduation Committee, Vice Principal Administration and former Registrar, Ian Minvielle, “The College’s contribution extends beyond the classroom, with its graduates serving in industries and professions across Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean. We are proud of how far our graduates have come, and we look forward to the difference they will make.”
This 40th Graduation Ceremony is therefore believed to be both a celebration of individual accomplishment and a reflection of the collective impact of an institution that has spent four decades investing in people and contributing to national development.
For the graduating class of 2026, the ceremony marks the culmination of years of learning, sacrifice, resilience and personal growth. Behind every certificate and qualification is a story of determination, the encouragement of family and friends, the guidance of lecturers and the support of a College community committed to student success.
The ceremonies will be accessible to the wider public through a broadcast on NTN (FLOW Channel 122), as well as the Government of Saint Lucia’s official Facebook and YouTube platforms, allowing family members, friends and supporters who cannot attend in person to share in the celebration.
Graduands and guests are encouraged to visit salcc.edu.lc/graduation for the latest information and guidance ahead of the ceremony.
