PRESS RELEASE – CAMPARI, the brand that builds extraordinary occasions, has partnered with the world’s premier carnival — Trinidad Carnival — in a very special way.
For the 2018 carnival season, Campari intends on making a big splash in the region by giving consumers the opportunity to experience Trini Carnival — the mecca of Carnivals — and Saint Lucia is definitely on that list.
On Thursday, Peter and Company Distribution, the home of Campari, held a cocktail event at the recently-opened Jamrock Restaurant in Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia, where the details for this promotion were unveiled.
Present at the event was international/Trinidadian soca artiste BunjiGarlin, who is partnering with Campari across the region for this promotional blitz. Besides the obvious buzz created by the soca superstar, guests savoured fabulous Campari Cocktails, treats and prize giveaways on the night.
According to Michelle Brown, Campari Regional Commercial Director, the choice of Saint Lucia to kick off this promotion was a natural one.
“It was a natural and suitable choice because Saint Lucia has had a very special and enduring relationship with Campari over the years,” Brown said.
BunjiGarlin, too, was quite happy that the launch was taking place in Saint Lucia, the land of his father’s birth.
“I am very excited to be carrying on the legacy of my father with his drink of choice — Campari,” Garlin said Thursday.
Known for having a winning reputation, Campari is expected to infuse greatness, unique opportunities and exuberance into making its stamp on this regional festive phenomenon called carnival, with BunjiGarlin as one of its ambassadors, the other being Jamaican artiste Shenseea.
The brand plans to start its journey to Trinidad, with a Campari Carnival Experience package, where ten winners from across the region will be chosen to partake in the experience with one of the leading carnival bands, Tribe.
“For all our carnival-loving consumers, the process is very simple: purchase a 200 ml bottle of Campari and get an experience card with an entry code. You have the option to text in the code to the number provided or download the Campari XPerience App and input it there. It is also an opportunity to interact with Campari via the app,” explained Campari Brand Manager in Saint Lucia, Denver Alcee.
Two Tribe Rogue costumes, airfare, accommodation and VIP access to the brand events will all form part of the grand prize package for one lucky Saint Lucian consumer plus a friend.
Five territories — Bahamas, Belize, Barbados, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago and St. Lucia — will participate with 2 winners from each country converging onto Trinidad and Tobago in 2018.
As of this weekend, consumers in Saint Lucia can purchase their Campari for chances to win. The promotion will run until December 15, 2017.
This Saturday, November 4, the Campari Brand Ambassador BunjiGarlin, will take to the stage alongside Ricky T, Ezra the Fun Machine, Shemmy J & Nerdy and more, for a fired up soca party to publicly launch the “Campari Road to Trini Carnival 2018” promotion. The event, which is free to the public, takes place at the Verve Car Park in Rodney Bay.
In addition to the mega launch in Saint Lucia, Campari will host country launches in each territory kicking off the campaign, as well as weekly Campari Red Hour events. The App will also keep all consumers abreast of the Campari events for the season as well as any giveaways and goodies in store.
“We are really thrilled about this promotion and after the exciting cocktail launch, we are looking forward to a phenomenal weekend which climaxes at Verve on Saturday,” Denver Alcee said.
Alcee thanked Saint Lucian consumers for continuing to make Campari their drink of choice and invited them to embrace the Road to Trini carnival promotion, while enjoying Campari, responsibly, of course.
