The Gros Islet Cultural Development Committee in collaboration with the Gros Islet Constituency Council introduces “Pweson, Pweson…A Fishing Tale” on Sunday, October 30 (Jounen Kweyol) in Gros Islet town.
A journey through the Gros Islet Village, you will be tantalized by the smell of the succulent grill fish, your eardrums vibrating to the sound of the conch shell being blown, your eyes marveled by the display of the fisheries and the depth feeling of heritage from your head to your toes.
Come bear witness to the Mamai Kwéyòl Parade featuring primary school students in national and traditional Kwéyòl wear accompanied by local indigenous music. Participate in the traditional bamboo bursting, take a horse ride or a chance to try to catch the greasy pig! Marvel at the Kwéyòl dance and theatre performances and amuse yourself by listening to the Kwéyòl jokes segment that is sure to give you a laugh!
Also featured will be performances by St. Lucia’s great Secret Band and the young talented Mighty and Subance.
